Freehanding on My Longarm

I had one more charity quilt to finish for my quilt group’s 2010 project.   I decided to try doing freehand quilting on it, which I’ve been wanting to dive into for a while.

I took a look at some videos on the internet to inspire me.  Here’s the ones I watched several times.

Like I said I decided to take the plunge.  Here’s the finished quilt . . .

and a close up.

It turned out okay, but not great.  Guess that’s what I can expect for my first try.  It was sooo much harder than I anticipated trying to look ahead and decide where to go next with the needle.

Any advice from longarmers out there?
